ORD C10 Club
United's C10 Club was the first of several clubs to be introduced to United's network in 2023 and it was the first project for Insight. The ground-up 17,000sf expansion to O'Hare's Terminal 1 was the first significant structural expansion to the facility since its inception in the 1980s. The Chicago-inspired design of the Club highlights locally commissioned artists (Kate Lewis featured here) and accommodates 400 guests while boasting a full kitchen, bar, and wellness room.

ORD T1 Roof Replacement
For two and a half years, the barrel vault skylight system at O'Hare's Terminal 1 was replaced with a new overclad enclosure incorporating energy-efficient glazing and metal panels. With the use of Kevlar nets for overhead protection, the airport operations were unaffected as 480,000sf of glazing, and 55 miles of caulk were replaced. The system also incorporated new electric snow melt and an exterior trolley installed at the ridge of the barrel vault for outer fall protection.

ORD T1 HVAC Upgrades
In lockstep with the ORD T1 Roof Replacement program, all Terminal 1 air handling units were fully gutted and refurbished. Most units were converted from a traditional vane axial to a more modern fan array, dramatically increasing efficiency and redundancy. Over 80 units were overhauled, totaling over 5,200 horsepower.

North Airfield
Three of United's support facilities were scheduled to be demolished to make way for the city's new 9C-27C runway at O'Hare airport. The most significant of the structures was the 140,000sf Ground Equipment Maintenance (GEM) facility, along with two support facilities to house various United stakeholders, including the facility maintenance personnel, bussing operation, aircraft move team, and aircraft provisioning/cleaning. The program also included 1.2Msf of apron and taxiway.
